History

Grace Faith Church is an independent church that began as a mission for the New York City Chinatown community. It has been affiliated with the Christian and Missionary Alliance since 2004.

In 1934, Rev. John L. Young, founder, started what was then Chinese Grace Faith Mission, located in a two room apartment on 63 Chrystie Street.

In 1952, the current building of 65 Chrystie Street was purchased. Many of the founding members were from the immigrant working class in Chinatown. After many years, the church evolved into primarily an English-speaking church. Currently, we are among the few churches in the greater New York area that is oriented towards the English-speaking Asian community. Our hope is that Grace Faith Church will be a lasting presence of Christ among the many in New York City's Chinatown.

Vision
